Hi! It's us, Ana, Alice, Taleja and Noelie, and together we are the Beton Brut Collective.
We've met during our studies at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Living and working in this huge city, made out of concrete and glass, wrapped in anonymity and alienation, all of us were longing for interpersonal exchange, connecting with nature, and creating safe spaces. Like the dandelion in a concrete jungle, we wanted to bring some softness into our surroundings, embracing the cracks in rigid structures and spreading our influence through mutual growth and engagement. We are driven by a desire for emancipatory action through sustainable methods. It is crucial to us that our work engages with current discourses and their historical contexts, ensuring it remains relevant and critical.
From experimentation to creation
Digging in the bin? Yes! We love finding new possibilities and ways to bring our ideas to life. When we meet in our studio and work on our shared artistic practice it's all about play, discovery, and experimentation. With life as a source of inspiration, we have made it our mission to capture the beauty of everyday life – like in a test tube, something new is emerging in this creative experimental field: art as a dynamic process.

WORKSHOPS
In our workshops – whether it’s natural dyeing, working with natural materials, performance, reading circles, or installations – we create spaces where people can grow and share experiences together. Because each of us has a unique artistic background, our workshops are varied and full of different ideas and materials. But our focus isn’t just on the materials themselves; it’s really about the experiences and learning that happen when we work with them.
We think that everyone can be an artist and that creative expression is a universal language that opens doors to new ways of understanding and connecting. We are dedicated to creating workshops for all age groups that encourage creative expression and aesthetic education. Our workshops offer not only access to techniques and materials, but also an educational journey that goes beyond mere practice and puts aesthetic experiences at the heart of it.
